FAQs:

What will the first appointment look like?

Before the initial appointment, there will be some paperwork to complete online through my client portal. During your initial appointment, it is my goal to gain a better understanding of you and your concerns. I will also answer any questions you may have. We will focus on getting to know each other and developing therapeutic goals for counseling together.

Teens and Minors:

The initial appointment will be with parents/guardians only and set up similarly to the above description. This will give parents/guardians the time and space to express their concerns and why they are seeking help.

How often will we meet?

We will schedule appointment frequency based on your needs and goals. In most cases, we will meet for weekly appointments and then decrease the frequency of sessions as you find appropriate. We will discuss session frequency more after your initial appointment.

How will we meet for virtual appointments?

We will meet at our scheduled appointment time through a HIPAA compliant video platform. You will be sent a link before your appointment time.

How long are appointments?

Appointment times vary based on your specific needs. Initial appointments are 55 minutes. Therapy appointments are 45-50 minutes.

How does payment work? Do you accept insurance?

I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards, as well as, HSA and FSA spending cards.

I am not in-network with any insurance panels. I am considered an out-of-network provider as insurances are very limiting in what they cover for clients and how long they provide coverage. If you have and choose to use out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide you with an itemized receipt to file for reimbursement. We can discuss more about this if you would like more information!

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I have a 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you can’t make it to a session, you can cancel or reschedule it 24 hours in advance with no fee. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee for the session as this time has been reserved for you.
